A Little Fresher |
Freshers at
Durham University have been complaining that they couldn't get into discos
held at various colleges in Durham during freshers week despite the fact
that they had bought tickets. What really annoyed them was to be turned
away by doormen (who were 2nd and 3rd year boys) who told the old story
about the hall being "full up".
But shortly afterwards four or five chaps would walk straight into the hall because they were friends with the doormen. Life is hard on young freshers. ("Feel a little fresher every day".) Overheard at one of these discos was the following conversation: Fresher to college staff member: "You're not allowed in here, you're not a student. I'll have you kicked out." Staff member: "I'll have you kicked in." |
